This is just a quick note about the Canberra Day Fun Run's on this Monday 9th March.
 
Registration is from 7.45am at the Acton Ferry Terminal
 
The 10km starts at 9 am
the 4km starts at 9.05 am
 
If you enter online before it is
Entry fee: $10 (10 km) & $7 (4km)
 
If you enter on the day it is
Late entry fee: $15 (10 km) & $10 (4 km)

This is a really great social running atmosphere and a good way to start off the fun-run season with an easy, non-competive run, Hope to see you there!!

The ANU aths club will of course be holding a stall at this weeks market day; so come and stop by for a chat; and if you're a member feel free to help out.

Club President Matthew Parton received news yesterday that he would have the opportunity to race against some of our Olympic heroes and up-and coming young talent in the Australia Cup to be held in Brisbane on February 7th. The competition is in a teams, state based format in which each athlete earns points for their state depending on their finishing position in each race.

The selection comes on the back of a stunning run at ACT Interclub last Tuesday (27/01) in which Matthew came from third place at the bell to win the race on the final straight. In doing so he also smashed his previous personal best by 4 seconds to register an 800m time of 1:56.2s. Our club coach, Ted McClain, was on hand at the event and was overheard saying "I've been doing this (coaching) for 30 years and that is, honestly, one of the best performances I've ever seen".

The club will be waiting anxiously for Matthew's result in Brisbane and we wish him all the best in what is his biggest test thus far.
